What is the relationship between Waldorf schools and Unesco?

Unesco supports and promotes this pedagogy, emphasizing the education that children achieve without neglecting aspects related to their physical and emotional health. Governments such as Ireland, Australia, Germany and Israel officially support Waldorf education. This cultural, scientific and educational organization of the united nations claims that the ideals and ethical principles (of the Waldorf school movement) correspond to those of Unesco and has chosen a number of Waldorf schools in Germany, Asia, Latin America and Africa for an “associated schools project”. Unesco has also sponsored an exhibition on Waldorf schools at the 44th session of its international education congress in Geneva.
